LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear JVN New Graduate Students,

On behalf of all faculty and administrative staff of John von Neumann Institute of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, I would like to express here my warmest welcome to you. 

In choosing John von Neumann Institute, you have chosen the path of excellence, and you have all made a life-long commitment to leadership in your fields of interest. We thank you and are all delighted to have you joining us in our family. 

John von Neumann Institute has a tradition of academic excellence. Our mission statement embraces the core values of the institution: to  promote excellence in teaching, to foster research and innovation, and to develop synergy within the VNU system. These goals shall be achieved in a cooperative and supportive environment.

As you progress through the program, your commitment and your dedication to personal and academic excellence shall become more and more visible to everyone in JVN. Many opportunities for growth await you.

Your academic classes and labs will challenge and stimulate you. You will both broaden your horizons and share your ideas. We encourage you to create intellectual-rich discussions in your lab, and also in the ones next to your labs. The walls in our Institute have been painted like green boards for you to be able to discuss from anywhere because we truly believe that those discussions are  one of the best ways to progress on your academic excellence. 

I hope to meet each of you as the year progresses. I do also hope that you will find our environment intellectually stimulating.
